- I have known the Salesians since 1979. That was the year that the Salesian Sisters came to my grammar school! I went to Archbishop Shaw High School and met the Salesian Priests and Brothers there. My experience with them led me to want to follow Don Bosco myself and in 1991 I made my first profession as a Salesian of Don Bosco. I was ordained a priest at St. John Bosco Parish in Harvey, La on August 26, 2000! God is so good!

I thought this was an interesting article on vocations. It is no surprise that it starts at home and that Dads do have a large part to play. Also, on November 24, 2004 the late Pope John Paul II blessed six monstrances for use during the Year of the Eucharist for people to pray for an increase of vocations to ordained ministry and consecrated life.

I have a son who entered the Jesuits in August of last year. I have always had great admiration for Father Don Bosco. Because I love children and recognize that so many people give up on them and without a fight against the secular pagan world out there.
