We would rather choose death than sin! We: 1. Do our duties well 2. Are always cheerful 3. Put Jesus and Mary as our closest friends 4. Love one another 5. Go to confession often 6. Recieve Communion as much as possible

Happy Feast of St. Dominic Savio!  May you all receive blessings and grace through his intercession!

Querido Mike Vaughn,
A dica que te dou vai depender de sua criatividade, siga o exemplo de nosso Avó D. Bosco, ele sempre foi famoso por ensinar o Método Preventivo as crianças atráves de brincadeiras, mas na realidade eram extremamente sérias.
Pense nisso.
Qualquer dúvida

Dominic Savio's readiness to be used by Don Bosco was what enhanced his immediate growth in holiness even while still alive; I will be the material and you will be the tailor" - Savio.

I think that the spirituality of St. Dominic Savio inspires the hearts of all the young people that God calls to His service.

Mike, Don Bosco would say, "The salesian should not only love the child, but the child must know that he/she is loved." Once you reach that trust, you have access to their soul and being a man of prayer you will lead their soul to heaven.

"May's love" ? mmmm Maybe I was think of spring (already?) and the end of the school year. No, I was meaning to say "Mary's love".

School starts for Berkeley Students this week. As a public school teacher, I am always looking for ways to evangelize with out getting fired. So, I am aiming to be loving and therefore supportive and challenging. Yet, I would like to learn more about the Salesian educational philosophy. So, here is my question: What tips do you have for me to incorporate Salesian ideas into my teaching? I guess if I am centered in The Holy Spirit, and open to May's love, than that may be "enough"

Just a thought.

Dominic Savio is alive in our hearts!

It's easy to become a saint and Dominic has proven that.

Corpus Christi

I recall once in my early years as as Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, when I kind of stepped outside of myself, as I said the words, "The Body of Christ' it hit me that I was the Body of Christ, giving the Body of Christ, to the Body of Christ. Such a unity of persons, Divine and human united in the one Lord. Another time, on this very Feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord, I was giving Communion. The choir was singing a lovely Eucharistic motet. There was a brief lull between one…See More

Fun in the snow

Glad to see that someone was having fun in this horrendous snow and cold. I remember how much fun snow was when I was a child. Now it is a great nuisance, especially since I do not have a car and buses are not running, I can't get anywhere. But, on second thought, maybe not having a car is not so bad after all. At least I don't have to dig out a parking space for myself or clean off the car. In this area, there are not spaces to park since there are so many mounds of snow. Sure hope the warmer…See More
