St. Dominic Savio is the name and patron saint of my youth group in Springfield, MA. I grew up reciting the cheer St. Dominic Savio ... Be Cheerful! to my youth group. For a few years before I joined or even heard of the Salesians, I kept a picture prayer card of him in my car, right next to the odometer. He would remind me to pray whenever I drive or go anywhere. I prayed to him frequently and he must have lead me to Don Bosco with the Salesians. This realization did not occur to me until after I joined the Salesians and reflected on the graces and blessings in my life and previous experiences. Now, I often pray to him before I go play and be with young people at school recess and youth center here in Port Chester, NY.

If you have not already done so, I recommending reading his biography and especially about the Immaculate Conception Sodality of which he founded with other boys at Don Bosco's Oratory.

he helped me get a chance at the seminary.....he is also the patron of my youth group........he is my favorite saint.....plse send me the cheer of st.dominic savio......often pple ask me about him.....i usually tell the youth that the main difference btwn DOMINIC-the preacher and DOMINIC SAVIO is that savio is young hence better of as the saint of the youth....i love his quotes expecially when he said that he was a good garment that the lord will use to make a good suit.....i just love him...pplse send me more of his pics
