JMJ+OBT
My community (SOLT) has the care of an orphanage in Colon, Mexico. The population has changed over the years, shifting from children who are simply poor and needing an education to those who have been broken, sometimes in very severe ways. In addition to a great and constant need for financial support, we are facing a need for trained persons who can work with and supervise the children. We have our sisters present in the mission, in addition to two priests, but at present we need folks who can serve the boys. As we seek out these people (and wait for our Lady to send them) we will need to give them some training, not only for their safety, but also so that they will be somewhat prepared to respond to situations that may arise.
I decided to begin this discussion so as to find out what sort of resources are out there that could help us meet this great need. If anyone has any ideas, or knows of any contacts who could help us out, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks so much, and God's blessings to you.
Peace and good,
Blair Burton
